Magdalena Villaruz (born 1934) is an entrepreneur and inventor from the Philippines. Originally a rice farmer,〔https://www.csupomona.edu/~plin/inventors/villaruz.html〕 she went on to transform agricultural technology by creating the turtle hand tractor and many other ground-breaking inventions.〔Women Invent:Two Centuries of Discoveries That Have Shaped Our World by Susan Casey (Chicago review Press, 1997) pp. 2-3.
